1. Deepavali is a Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil.

2. The festival is also known as the “festival of lights” because Hindus decorate their homes with oil lamps to symbolize the triumph of light over darkness.

3. Deepavali is typically celebrated in 24th October yearly, and the date varies depending on the lunar calendar.

4. It is celebrated by Hindus all over the world and is one of the most important festivals in the Hindu calendar.

5. The festival lasts for five days, and each day has its own special meaning and traditions.

6. On the first day of Deepavali, Hindus clean their homes and workplaces to prepare for the festivities.

8. On the third day, Hindus exchange gifts and visit relatives and friends.

9. On the fourth day, Hindus pray to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and on the fifth day they pray to Vishnu, the god of preservation.
