How to help and support others | Sparklekidz
If you want to make friends, find a job, or even get married someday, it’s important that people like you. And the way people like us is when we help and support them! When someone helps us whether it’s with homework or just listening to our stories.
When we help others, our brains release chemicals that make us feel happy. This is called the “helper’s high.” So helping others not only makes them feel good, but it also makes us feel good! Find out why it’s important to support and help
We all know it feels good to help others. But did you know that it can also be helpful for you? When we help others, our brains release chemicals that make us feel happy. This is called the “helper’s high.” So helping others not only makes them feel good, but it also makes us feel good!
But why is it important to help and support others? There are many reasons! For one, when we help others, we build relationships. These relationships can be with friends, family members, or even people we don’t know very well. When we have strong relationships, we feel connected and supported. We all need people in our lives who care about us and who we can count on.
Another reason why it’s important to help and support others is because it makes our community stronger. When we work together to support each other, everybody benefits! Strong communities are safe communities. They’re also more fun places to live in because there’s a sense of connection and belonging.
Here are some ideas of how you can help and support others:
– If you see somebody picking up litter, join in and help out! Not only will you be making your community look nicer, but you’ll also be setting a good example for others. Who knows, maybe the next time somebody sees litter they’ll think of you and decide to pick it up too!
– Do you have an old age neighbour? See if they need help with any yard work or grocery shopping. Spending time with them will brighten their day and they might have some great stories to share with you!
– Know somebody who is going through a tough time? Ask them how you can help. Maybe they need a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes just being there for somebody is enough.
– There are always opportunities to volunteer in your community. From working at a food bank or homeless shelter to helping out at a local school or library, there are countless ways to make a difference. And guess what? When you volunteer, not only do you feel good about yourself, but you also meet new friends and learn new skills!
